WATCH: Ceremony Marking 100th Anniversary of Chinese Exclusion Act

On June 23, 2023, Senator Woo, Senator Oh and ACCT held a national remembrance event at the Senate Chamber to commemorate the centennial of the Chinese Exclusion Act. It was a historic event where guests were able to take a moment to reflect on the consequences of the Act. A plaque was also unveiled at the event. Press Conference: June 23 National Remembrance Day Event

On March 16, the Honourable Senators Victor Oh and Yuen Pau Woo, in partnership with Action! Chinese Canadians Together, held a press conference to announce a National Remembrance Ceremony in the Senate of Canada Building to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Introduction of the Chinese Exclusion Act – in addition to other commemorative initiatives.
