Biography
Professor William X. Wei serves as a board member and on the fundraising committee for ACCT (Action Chinese Canadian Together). He has held several key administrative roles at Canadian universities, including Dean, Associate Dean, Research Institute Director, and Department Chair. He is currently President of the International Case Research Association (ICRA) and Vice President of the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). In 2009, he set up the Ivey-MacEwan co-brand business case collection; In 2018, he established the Case in Chinese Language Track at the 60th annual NACRA conference; in 2024, he introduced the Case Debate method, and in 2025, he initiated the Ivey-ICRA case collection. Dr. Wei is a graduate of the Ivey Leadership Program and the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Programs. He sits on the advisory board of the Emerging Markets Case Studies journal. Over the past two decades, he has published more than 50 business cases through Harvard Business Publishing and Ivey Publishing. His research has appeared in leading academic journals, including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, the International Journal of Emerging Markets, and the Project Management Journal. He also holds the ICD.D designation from the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program and is a Registered Professional Accountant with the Society of Professional Accountants of Canada.
