The Action! Chinese Canadians Together Foundation (ACCT) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the GLOCAL Foundation of Canada to provide participation grants that support Chinese Canadian youth pursuing civic leadership opportunities across Canada.

Through this collaboration, youth aged 18–30, Canadian citizens, Permanent residents or Refugee status will receive financial support to participate in ACCT’s leadership initiatives, including the Aspire to Act Civic Leadership Training Program and the Aspire to Lead© Chinese Canadian Leaders’ Summit.

This partnership aims to:

  • • Reduce financial barriers to leadership programs
  • • Expand outreach to youth networks across Canada
  • • Connect young people to civic engagement opportunities
  • • Strengthen the next generation of Chinese Canadian civic leaders

This collaboration focuses specifically on supporting youth participation and engagement in civic leadership development.

Youth Participation Grants and Opportunities

Through the GLOCAL Foundation of Canada’s National Youth Service Network (NYSN), eligible youth participants aged 18–30, Canadian citizens, Permanent residents or Refugee status may apply for participation grants to help reduce financial barriers to attending the ACCT’s leadership initiatives: Aspire to Act Civic Leadership Program and the Aspire to Lead Chinese Canadian Leaders’ Summit.

Youth participants may also gain access to additional opportunities through the National Youth Service Network, including:

  • • Recognition of volunteer and civic engagement hours through GLOCAL’s volunteer platform (https://volunteer.youcount.ca/i/A1)
  • • Opportunities to participate in youth-led civic engagement projects
  • • Chance to apply for microgrants supporting community initiatives
  • • Invitations to workshops, leadership talks, and civic events
  • • Connections with a national network of youth participants

By joining through the National Youth Service Network, youth participants become part of a broader community of young people across Canada who are building leadership skills and contributing to their communities.

ACCT Foundation’s Leadership Programs

Youth supported through this partnership may participate in ACCT Foundation’s flagship leadership initiatives:

Aspire to Act Civic Leadership Training Program

The Aspire to Act Civic Leadership Training Program is a unique civic leadership program designed for Chinese Canadians, with a strong focus on culture and identity. The program equips participants with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to lead in their communities and in public and civic life.

Through online self-paced learning, facilitated discussions, leadership exercises, and interactive dialogue with experienced leaders, participants explore topics such as identity, leadership skills, civic engagement, and pathways to public leadership in Canada, while developing their own leadership story and vision for civic impact.

Upcoming Cohort
April 4, 11 and 26, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM (MT)
Plus: Up to 3 days of self-paced online learning

This upcoming cohort is part of a series of Aspire to Act Civic Leadership Training cohorts that will continue to be offered in the coming months, creating ongoing opportunities for emerging and established Chinese Canadian leaders to develop civic leadership skills and community impact.

Youth participants accepted through the GLOCAL partnership may attend for $100 (regular fee $350).
